Alan and Groop,
    
De Glue Goo will dissolve yellow and white PVA glues like elmers and
franklin and hide glue.  Hot water will also work for hide glue.  It smells 
like vinegar, which is probably a component and it's a gel so that it does 
not evaporate so quick.  I recommend trying it out.
