I have used a similar setup in two shops now, but I skipped the lumber
and just drilled holes directly into the studs in the wall. Slipped the
3/4 inch pipe into the holes and loaded them up. Took all of half an
hour once I got the pipe from the plumber.
I must admit that the inclusion of some sort of cover or bump cap
on the end of the pipes is a great safty addition that I left off.
There is always room for improvement.
