Mistakes

Groop:

In November I had a touchup, color match on a conference table as a result
of movers. 12/31 I received a fax to say that even though customer signed
for the repairs being satisfactory they are not pleased now their comment:
"Repairs very noticable color does not match". When I left there was a 95%
match, and a comment how good I matched the color .

If my memory serves me correctly we all had a discussion about touchups
changing color a few months ago. I can't seem to find it in archives. The only
thing I have changed as far as my repair technique is that I use shellac now
instead of NC. A chunk was broken off a corner and I used the pin and epoxy
stick trick to repair and then color matched with shellac and blendall powders.
The movers said that I would not have to go back to the job because of the
signed acceptance, but I feel obligated and need to see what happened.
I will be going back out there next week.

I try to learn by my mistakes. I guess I need to catalog my mistakes and
remedies so that I can refer to them . If I can get some imput on this one
I'll tuck it away for future reference.
