Whitewood Repair
Groop,
Later this spring I will be teaching a short seminar on Whitewood Repair for
Catawba Valley Community College. We will be concentrating on those
techniques and products which a furniture manufacturer would use to repair
defects or damage to the raw wood prior to finishing.
Among those products will be CA glues, (used both as a filler and adhesive)
epoxy filler, (the stick, epoxy glues, and epoxy putties) polyester filler
(i.e., bondo like product), burn in (traditional and Plane stick), as well as
traditional solvent type and water type cellulosic fiber putties.
Any advice, cautions, tips, that you can think of will be appreciated.
I am just beginning to write notes on this, so jump in, please.
Thanks,
Greg Williams
