Steve,
I think you're going to like dealing with Benco, as I have for the past
12 years. I don't know which stripper you ordered - probably their B7.
Anything that stuff won't remove, believe me, you don't want to get
further involved with anyway.
First dealings I had with them? Twelve years ago a nice guy pulls up
in an 18 wheeler with California plates and politely asks if we have
anything around the shop we're having trouble stripping 'cause he
has some dynamite stripper at a good price delivered to our door on
a convenient schedule.
Sounded way too good to be true. Well, we just happened to have a
couple of nightmare chairs that were painted multiple times with who
knows what - one of those jobs you usually end up scrubbing off with
steel wool and elbow grease - using the stripper for lubrication only.
I just laughed to myself and tried to keep a straight face as I handed
him one of the chairs and escorted him to the strip area. I then stood
back, silently snickering - anticipating the priceless look that would
soon appear on this poor guys face and wondering what imaginative
excuse he'd manage to invent for the assured failure of his product.
Just as I was starting to feel a little guilty about my fiendishness,
I noticed that the paint was just falling off that chair after no more than
a minute's exposure. He had that chair completely stripped in five
minutes and turned with a smile to ask me if I had any more "tough"
jobs we were having trouble with.
They moved out of California since then, probably 'cause of the
environmental wackos and the price of their stripper has doubled
probably 'cause the price of MC has too, but I've been a Benco
man ever since that day. Always been delivered on time and
never a "bad" batch in all those years.
