Regarding Beeswax,

I have been told on more than one occassion that the more unrefined the
beeswax is the better. That is, more of what the bee inadvertantly leaves
in the material is supposed to give the beeswax more of that undefinable
beeswax quality. It's all rooted in the "energy" that most beekeepers
recognize, but can't define, in and around their hives.

This all sounds "folksy", but I believe one day science will be able to
quantify it.
