Hey Roger,

It is for a router, and there are some Makita models that will work...
but even Makita doesn't recommend using the 2708 for a router table....
I think they have a newer 7/8 hp model all plastic housing...
light duty at best...that will bolt up to that hole config....

Roger:

Nine times out of ten you will probably have to buy a Makita router. I think
that most of the mfgrers have different hole configurations to make thier
product unique. The fence is kind of handy because you can use it for the
router and the saw. Does the fence have a half hole cut out to line up with
the hole in the table top?

I don't know about the makita, but my router is mounted in a shop made
extension on my table saw and I use the saw rip fence.

Is it for dust evacuation???

My assumption is that the hole is in the top of the portable saw table to
the right of the saw blade opening, and not at 90 degrees to the top.

I have a Jet contractors saw with a home made router table atached on
the right side of the saw (on the extension table). I use the "T" fence that
came with the saw as a router fence (just support the far end of it with a
C clamp to keep it firmly secured)

Just a guess... but have you checked to see if a Makita router fits the hole
configuration? Maybe an adaptor plate can be made to mount a router?
The saw table top is aluminum?... If so, should be easy enough to drill and
tap correctly positioned bolt holes.
