Groop,
My hunch with regard to the 6 chairs per hour, is that Brian
is from the south, time goes reaaaaaaal slooooooow down here.
One hour can seem like days. Just a thought.

Brian McInturff reminds us of our manners:
I'm about tired of having to prove myself here on this issue.
First, I'm good at what I do. Whatever I start out at I try to be the best.
Always have always will (12 years in the military will instill this).
Second people tend to take their time when they do things, but if you try hard
you will accomplish what you set out for. Granted no 2 chairs will ever be alike
and 1 chair may take longer than the next, but, I have no need to tell tales to
the group, I'm simply stating what I had done before, the same as stripping a
hitchcock chair with 6 coats of paint solely with a piece of glass.
Why? Just to see if I could.
Why shoot for an hour on caning 6 chairs?
Just to see if I could.
Does this mean I could always do six chairs in an hour?
No.
But trust me it can be done.
Am I a master caner?
Not hardly, but maybe my grandmother was.
Just because you or the caner you have say it can't be done
doesn't mean it must be impossible.
The tone here kinda has upset me,
my pride has been challenged to some extent
and it appalls me that some would come so close to calling me a fibber.
I recanted my earlier post to exclude the hand woven from the six an hour,
but the pressed I did do. I don't question others abiilities and take a little
offense to mine being question.
If you try real hard you I bet you can do six in one hour with practice.

Well said, Brian.
I think you've shown us how gentlemen behave.
