Refinishers Group, and friend to all in world of refinishing,
restoration and conservation. The members of the Professional Refinishers Group mourn the tragic and untimely passage of "The Boss" who was taken from us on Sept 23, 2003, in car accident in the back country of his beloved Idaho. He is survived by his wife Lana, their son Adrian husband of Jenny and father of AJ and Ariana, their son Austin husband of Stacie, and their daughter Amanda. He is also survived by a world wide network of men and women whose connection to the trades of refinishing, restoration and conservation brought them into the community that is lovingly known as "Groop". Our daily email exchange of over 5 years, as well as the incredible volumes of material available on this website represent what Alan called "The greatest collection of refinishing knowledge on the planet", all of which was contributed by individuals without compensation, for the use of their colleagues, and to improve the body of knowledge of the trade as a whole. Alan provided not only full time day to support for all functions of Groop, but also the spiritual leadership that fostered the true bonds between the hundreds of diverse professionals connected by this unique forum. The memory of Alan's friendship will live on in the hundreds of us fortunate enough to have known him. Those not familiar with Alan and Groop are encouraged to read "Adventure to Idaho" for a small glimpse of the man whose influence has reached around the entire world, seen from his own special corner of the world. |
